FAQ
Yes, of course you are welcome.
Many of the students who attend VOCOLAB start with "first time voice training" and "little to no musical experience." Please rest assured that we will carefully teach you the basics, such as how to project your voice, breathing, and posture.
Of course.
VOCOLAB is not a place to come after you have improved, but a place to come in order to improve your skills. Your current level is not important.
There is no age limit.
People of all ages, from teenagers to those in their 60s and older, attend our clinic. Those who feel that it may be too late are the ones who experience the biggest changes.
it's okay.
There are many different goals, from those who want to enjoy it as a hobby to those who want to become professionals. At VOCOLAB, we adjust the lesson content to suit each student's goals.
It supports a wide range of genres.
We place great importance on building a strong vocal foundation, regardless of the genre, including pop, J-POP, R&B, Western music, musicals, and K-POP.
Yes, it is possible.
At VOCOLAB, we believe that the reasons why people can't produce high notes are different for each individual. We carefully analyze how you use your vocal cords, the balance between falsetto and natural voice, and how you use your breathing and body, and then we create a training menu with the order and content that's right for you. Rather than forcing yourself to produce high notes, we aim to achieve stable, reproducible high-pitched vocalization by gradually adjusting your voice.
You will feel the difference even with just a trial lesson.
Although it varies from person to person, many people find it easier to produce sound after just one or a few lessons. By continuing, you will see a big improvement in your voice stability and expressiveness.
All of them are experts who have been seriously dealing with voice for many years.
All of VOCOLAB's instructors have over 20 years of teaching experience. They do not teach based on trends or impulses, but rather on the premise of developing your voice safely and over the long term.
The director and instructor has been in the music industry for over 25 years and graduated from an educational institute in New York that trains producers. He is currently a member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) and the Japan Laryngological Society, and provides lessons from a perspective that integrates anatomy, phonetics, and on-site experience.
At VOCOLAB, we do not employ inexperienced or part-time instructors. Only those who understand the responsibility of being in charge of the voices are allowed to teach. This is the philosophy of VOCOLAB.
It's a calm and welcoming atmosphere.
Because it is a completely private class, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. There is no "too strict" or "scary" atmosphere, so you can attend with peace of mind.
The backgrounds are really diverse.
Our members range from office workers, students, housewives, etc. Many of our members say, "I wasn't confident in my singing," "I want a new hobby," or "I want to become a professional singer."
Yes, we do.
You can experience the atmosphere and teaching methods of VOCOLAB for yourself.

The level of expertise and responsibility in teaching is different.
The difference is in the expertise of the instruction and the way we take responsibility for the voice. At VOCOLAB, we don't use easy phrases like "You'll definitely improve." The voice is very delicate, and the reasons and risks for not being able to hit high notes vary from person to person.
All instructors at VOCOLAB have over 20 years of teaching experience. On the other hand, there are many cases where instructors take on the role of instructor without sufficient education or on-the-job experience, and it is true that there is a risk of injuring one's throat due to incorrect pronunciation.
At VOCOLAB, we don't treat your voice solely based on feeling or momentum. We prioritize developing a voice that you can use for a long time by safely adjusting your body's usage, feeling, and awareness.
Changes will definitely occur.
With the right method and a safe environment, your voice can definitely change. VOCOLAB is the place to do it.
VOCOLAB's trial lessons are not a place to test your skills, nor are they a prerequisite for joining.
This is the time to check the current state and habits of your voice, and tell you the order in which you can safely develop this voice.
We will not force you to join, so if you feel like "I want my voice to be properly heard" or "I don't want to take any more detours or make any more mistakes," then please give it a try.
